Summary of Innovation

SUDrain is a social enterprise that provides eco-friendly, decentralized wastewater management solutions for coastal and floating communities. Their innovative system, which uses coconut fiber biofilters, effectively treats wastewater, improving public health and protecting marine ecosystems. The company aims to install these systems in a tourism community with limited sanitation infrastructure, supporting eco-tourism by creating cleaner and safer environments. Funding will cover stakeholder engagement, feasibility studies, engineering designs, and the construction of public toilets and sewage treatment systems, along with community training and project handover.

In the coming six months, SUDrain will focus on securing projects cofunded by two customers—a household and an eco-tourism resort— while establishing partnerships in coastal areas and boosting SUDrain’s brand awareness in the international development community by 30%. The company also plans to install two pilot wastewater systems with a 90-95% reduction in pollutants, and engage local communities through workshops, aiming for a 20% increase in women's participation.

Looking ahead to the next two years, SUDrain envisions expanding its reach to three new coastal regions, growing its customer base by 50%, and installing 20 full-scale systems with a 95% pollutant reduction. The goal is to form three more co-funding partnerships and achieve a 30- 50% revenue growth while reaching 100,000 people and increasing women's leadership by 50%.
